Sterilising of packaged food products
The Lagarde Steam/air sterilising system is more flexible and economical than traditional retort sterilising techniques.
Why?, How? Steam is used as the medium to heat the product direct. This is circulated evenly throughout the retort inner chamber by a powerful fan, which in turn contacts between, above and below each individual item inside the retort that requires sterilising to increase product shelf life longevity.
Effective heat transfer of all packaging shapes and sizes
Equal distribution is achieved throughout the chamber as steam acts as a gas and evenly fills every space inside the chamber, and around your product. The Lagarde system controls the process delicately, achieving productivity benefits as well as energy savings.
Therefore the Lagarde steam/Air system does not require energy to heat a large amount of water (as in water spray systems) to complete the sterilising process.
Steam/air provides superior processing compared to traditional water spray systems.
Water spray system traditionally require complicated tray designs which can be dedicated to a particular size can or container, therefore limiting flexibility in packaging design as well as costly tray/basket expenses.
Water spray systems lack consistency of heat distribution due to an umbrella effect of the water spray in static systems.
Enquire with INOX for information regarding how your energy consumption can be reduced by up to 50% compared to other retorting processes.
LAGARDE has over 3500 installations worldwide.
